Which shop? Whilst some people would say I don't work in any shop, I am mostly posted to Bray although I do go to Ballymount twice a week and have sold a few pairs out West in Galway.

About me: I'm pretty lazy compared to most Triathletes. Unlike most triathletes I love racing but hate training. I did my first Triathlon in Brittas Bay in 1999 (Olympic distance 1.5k swim, 40k bike, 10k run) having bumped into my cousin in the Gym a week before it he told me to just come down it would be good crack. I went down to Brittas Bay thinking I was doing some shooting and horse riding had no idea it was a swim-bike-run type thing. I wouldn't say I got hooked straight away, I went back the following year having done what I considered training this time I borrowed a bike a week before the event.

Training Shoe: Saucony Omni, I keep trying other shoes but always seem to come back to this one.

Racing Shoe: I'm too heavy for a racing shoe, but I do run a few off road races and use the Brooks Cascadia.

Favourite piece of kit: Underarmour warm base layer (seems simple but it keeps me really warm).

Best results: Beating Liam Dillion in the Great Dublin Bay swim of 2009. I came 32nd out of 33.

Most embarrassing sporting memory: This last question I struggled with but this one I could fill a book. I'll just list my top 3.

  1. Ironman Austria 2007 - It was an out and back course. I mistakenly turned off after 21k (halfway) and started going down this chute I had loads of kids high fiving me……….I realised I'd taken a wrong turn and crossed over the finishing mat. I had to go back out and do another half marathon.
  2. Some friends persuaded me to do a cross country race circa 2008. I knew I'd probably beat both of them but didn't fancy my chances against the rest of the field as they all looked pretty serious. It was 4 laps my "Friends" pulled out after 2 laps and the organisers had to wait for me to finish up.
  3. Did the Greystones swim in 2006 and again the organisers had to wait for me to finish……………….there is a pattern emerging here.

Which shop? I have been working in Running Specialist area for the last five years and I am now managing our new newest store in Ballymount.

About me: I have been running since I can remember but started competing when I was 12.You will usually find me out in the Phoenix Park running. I follow most sports and love helping other achieve their running goals.

Training Shoe: Where do I start here, I have tried many shoes but find my favourites are shoes that are light, flexible and responsive. Shoes in this category would be the Brooks Glycerine and the Mizuno wave rider.

Favourite piece of kit: Didn't think I'd ever say this as I'm not a tech geek but has to be my Garmin 220.

Career Highlights: I have competed in many international races including the Hood to Coast relay (197 mile relay), The European Club cross country in Istanbul and Running for Ireland in Snowden. Winning the men's mini marathon twice and winning the Wicklow relay twice.

Goals for the year: To run my first marathon in Dublin and to keep the injuries away.

Which shop? I have worked part time in our Bray store since November of 2009. I usually work weekends and a little bit during the week. I'm also occasionally found in our Ballymount store and recently set up the Amphibian King Facebook site and have run a few competitions on it.

About me: I started competing in triathlons in 2008 and have become more and more involved as the years go on. My strongest discipline would be running but over the last few years my biking and swimming has come on a good bit. I mainly compete in Sprint and Olympic distance races and some cross country, road and mountain running races. Aswell as working part time in Amphibian King I'm studying for a degree in Marketing & Event Management.

Training Shoe: Saucony Triumph or Brooks Dyad.

Racing Shoe: Mizuno Elixir or Brooks ST Racer.

Favourite piece of kit: Skins Compression tights...use them for pretty much every run or cycle over the winter and my new Garmin 310XT!! Love the stats!

Best Results: 2nd (20-24yrs) in the National Series 2010 and 2hr 4mins PB for Olympic Distance in the Europeans Age Group Championship in Athlone.

Most embarrassing sporting memory: This would probably be in Dublin City Tri a few years ago when coming along the finish straight everyone was cheering like crazy thinking I was racing Gavin Noble to the finish line....little did they know I was being lapped and had to turn off to complete another 5km!

Which shop? I have worked part time in our Bray store since March 2009. I usually work weekends and once or twice during the week.

About me: I started running when I was in 4th year and did a lot of track and field and cross country races in school. I'm now running with Kilcoole AC and have recently joined Wicklow Tri after being pressured into it by the Amphibian King staff!! Along with working I'm also part time in college studying Hot Stone Therapy, Reiki and Hopi. I previously completed a course in Leisure Management, Personal Training and Sports Massage.

Training Shoe: Mizuno Inspire or Saucony Omni

Favourite piece of kit: Under Armour or Mizuno Running gear!

Best Results: Athlete of the year 2010 in Kilcoole AC and also getting Ladies captain for 2011.

My goals for this year are to complete a few triathlons with my fellow employees and do various competitions beating all the staff especially Damo!:) Oh and learn how to swim properly!

Which shop? I have enjoyed working in our Bray store for over 2 years now, since last September 2010. I look after managerial roles as well.

About me: I have lived in a pretty sporty style since I'm on my feet. I have started with swimming for many years, followed by a couple of years of XC Mountain biking and road cycling, I've also tried combat sports, Olympic handball and a lot more. My brother was a triathlete so I've been doing a good few, just to keep up, did my first sprint at the age of 10. Since I managed to get through an Ironman, and looking to do the second one this year in Zurich. I have studied economics and logistics, also sport science. More recently added biomechanics course to my professional profile.

Training Shoe: Asics 2150, best technical runner I ever had was the Saucony Hurricane 8.

Racing Shoe: Haven't got any for long time, possibly looking at a pair of Brooks St Racer.

Favourite piece of kit: Compression gear big time Under Armor and BSC, Mizuno Performance Jacket, and I have a very old lucky sprinter short from Nike.

Best Results: Still able to wake up in time in the mornings to do some training.

Most embarrassing sporting memory: Classic story of racking the bike back to the wrong spot coming back from the cycling split and blaming half of the world for my missing runners.
