Engineered Mesh Upper

The Type A9 caters for those runners who want a shoe that enhances speed and allows a protective and secure fit for maximum performance on race day. Constructed with an engineered mesh upper, the Saucony Type A9 offers a dynamic and seamless fit. As it supplies an almost second-skin feel, the foot is encouraged to move according to the correct biomechanics and without inhibitions. Additionally, the perforations in the mesh allow air to flow throughout the shoe to ensure a breathable and comfortable foot environment. Fitted on top of the mesh are 3D Print overlays providing an increasingly dynamic fit and offering a supportive unit. The Type A9 is designed with a padded tongue and collar which provides step-in comfort as well as reduces the risk of irritation and discomfort, keeping your mind focused on the race ahead.

SSL EVA Midsole

Stay light on your feet as the Type A9 is equipped with Saucony's SSL (Saucony SuperLite) EVA. This premium material brings maximum rebound while ensuring minimal weight. The SSL EVA gives the shoe durable and resilient properties, which in turn, improves the running economy.

XT-900 Outsole

The Type A9 uses XT-900 as its outsole. XT-900 is a mid-level material that offers moderate traction and protection on the high-wear areas. In the forefoot areas is the IBR+ (Injection Blown Rubber) which is 33% lighter and more cushioned in contrast with the typical blown rubber. This feature enables a flexible toe-off, therefore resulting in quick turnaround time. Located on the heel of the sole is PWRTRAC which is a tacky, durable rubber which provides exceptional traction and abrasion resistance.
